Pencil signed, increibed and dated at time of inscription; also
signed and dated in plate. NB: Charlot inscribed this lithograph
in 1944 to Katherine Comfort, an Atlanta area artist and educator.
The lithograph depicts a subject Charlot used frequently, notable
in his mural "Cortés lands in Mexico" in the Journalism Building
(now Brooks Hall, Terry College of Business), at the University of
Georgia, Athens. In the summer after finishing the UGA mural
in early 1944, Charlot painted two murals at Black Mountain
College in North Carolina.
